Caretta Caretta - Loggerhead Sea Turtles

We were very lucky on our trip to Rethymnon to have 3 Sea Turtle nests right on the beach in front of our apartment....and after a very long, hot day we decided on a late evening swim in the sea, only to come across one nest being opened :)

We watched eagerly as the volunteers carefully examined each and every egg...

and then this little man appeared...

he needed a little hand...

he was very slow, I only hope he managed to get out to sea that night,

if not im sure he loved the sunset as much as us....
